Application of the Constructivist Approach in the Learning of University Students

Abstract

The study seeks to find how teachers apply the constructivist approach at different levels of knowledge, to favor learning. We worked with a stratified random sample of 266 university students. The most relevant findings were that factual or factual content, in general, is taught in only 24% of the conceptual content and principles are taught only by using memory learning in 14% and procedural content is also taught in mechanical memory form, by 17%. That is to say; that in total 55% of the learning is taught without transcending the memory level
